Home cooked food at its best

This is a lovely little pub, with lovely home cooked food. The menu has plenty for everyone, and there is a specials board each day. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. . Whilst there is a large car park across road, it can be a bit tricky crossing the road at bust times.

Terrible food

Food was awful , chips couldn't even eat them , gammon just fat , VERY disappointed, no sorry from staff was refunded on the gammon Won't be going again

Oh dear oh dear

Made a telephone booking for four adults one baby for sat evening made them aware re allergies etc I was told no problem I asked for a quiet table with room for a pram again no problem the table was booked for 8pm a little later I recieved a phone call from the staff making me aware that the kitchen closes at 8pm which in my experience is unheard of they also informed me that a disco was starting at 8 30 pm (coincidence?) In other words it was pointless us going really.

Food hygiene is a joke.

There were other, potentially serious, problems. Firstly the stale milk, both in my room and at breakfast. This was totally unacceptable, as everyone knows about food hygiene standards nowadays. If that wasn’t enough, the room was on the cramped side, my egg’s benedict has no butter and the waitresses forgot my orange juice. Oh and I had to ask for the complimentary coffee to be placed in my room(with food). How can you charge £180/night for a room and not even provide the free drinks?

Family meal

We went up after the refurb and yes what a difference the deco and the place looks amazing well done to the new tenants and all the staff. We ordered food which the Chef Colin always delivers and the quality is amazing. Would recommend to anyone.

Won't be back!

Booked a table here a week prior for the first time available, 5pm. Bearing in mind I have a child that needs to do the whole routine for school, we walk in at 4:51pm to be told that it will be at least 15-20 minutes before we get our table. The poor waitress was apologetic, but the manager was not and the girl who told us the bad news at the till couldn’t care less . We used to visit this pub regularly, but this is the second time in a row we’ve had an issue with them.

Not good at all

My family and I had a meal at the traders arms and it was a disappointment, after reading all the reviews we thought we would give it a go, but the food was awful and the service was even worse, won't be returning.

Not a good stay at Cottons in Knutsford

Room grubby and dirty, no room service for the 2 days!!! OTHER THAN A PATHETIC ATTEMPT TO MAKE UP THE BEDS, SEE PHOTOS ATTACHED. There were a number of functions on at the hotel, and security were called on a number of occasions due to bedrooms near us at 2am to 4am having some sort of drunken parties, disgraceful. After complaining about no room service and having no sleep, we were offered a discount of £4 that was the biggest insult.

Another good customer Lost

We have been regular customers at this pub over the years & always had good service and meals . . . until yesterday (Tuesday) lunchtime. You expect three things when you enter a restaurant: to be given a table, a menu & offered drinks. So we were given a table in full sight of the lady in charge and were then ignored for ten minutes, at which point we got up and left. As we left, the lady offered the excuse that there was a problem with the gas in the kitchen.

I will never visit again

I was very disappointed with food I had the turkey off the special board and it was the worst turkey I have ever had the sprouts where undercooked the parsnips where hard and the roast potatoes where hard I got a little pot of gravy which was tasteless the pig in blankets where pink and a little ring of stuffing it all was disgusting and I wasn't the only one who complained about there food around the table one even complained that much they got there money back im not one too complain so didn't

Don't bother going here.

Went on sunday and arrived at about 12:15. decided to have the sunday lunch which was advertised as roast beef or another roast meat, we were told that only beef was available and when it arrived it looked and tasted like very cheap meat, the mashed potatoes served with it were cold. the pudding was ok but the custrd served with this was also cold. will not be going again

Christening what a mistake!

I had booked one of the rooms for my grandsons christening and the quality of the Buffett was very poor. For the money I had paid there was hardly enough food for my guests and the presentation was terrible. It was as if they had forgotten and it was very last minute. I always give a second chance but I will never come here again. It's a shame as the hotel is lovely but the standard of service you would expect here is just not good enough.

Overpriced, lacklustre service, couldn’t use facilities

We had several issues with our stay, all of which would probably have been fine at a cheaper hotel, but were really not up to four star standard. Furthermore could probably have let them go by if any member of staff had shown anything more than grumpy disinterest in our comfort or experience: I received emails telling me to call and book in advance to get a slot in the pool, when I did call I was told only direct bookings could prebook.

Restaurant Shocking.

Slow unattractive staff. Food was on this occasion acceptable. Incorrect order constantly asking what is ordered I don’t understand how places like this stay open they are lucky with the lack of competition in the area.

Overpriced and not worth the money

Completely over rated and over priced £160 one night for graduation stay over no air con and they knew it was broken. Breakfast dreadful. I have no idea how they can charge this much. Needed an iron was directed to a cupboard photos to follow. No care for customers.
